Back-to-school get-togethers are filling the calendar, football season is almost here, and there are still plenty of warm evenings worth spending outside. Grilled Pork Belly Skewers give you one more reason to gather around the grill and make the most of every occasion. Rich, juicy pork cooks over high heat for a deeply browned exterior while staying tender inside. Serve them for a Saturday kickoff, a late-summer party, or an everyday dinner that turns a regular evening into more time enjoyed outdoors.

Much of the character starts before the skewers hit the grates. An Asian-inspired marinade combines savory soy sauce with mirin, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. These ingredients season each piece while balancing the richness of pork belly. Mirin contributes mild sweetness that supports caramelization, while vinegar adds a welcome tang. Over direct heat, the edges develop a flavorful char while the interior stays succulent.

Their handheld format also makes these skewers a natural choice for casual entertaining. Bring them out as an appetizer while everyone gathers on the patio, or add them to a larger game-day spread. For dinner, pair the pork with grilled vegetables, rice, a crisp salad, or other fresh sides. That flexibility makes the dish easy to work into almost any outdoor menu.

Great food deserves equipment built with the same pride you bring to the cookout. American Made Grills builds premium outdoor products in the USA using domestic sourcing, durable stainless steel, and exacting manufacturing standards. Handcrafted for dependable performance, these grills give backyard cooks the heat and control needed for everything from quick-seared skewers to weekend feasts. The American Dream Never Tasted So Good.

Get the patio ready, invite your favorite people over, and put these pork belly skewers on the menu. Football weekends, family gatherings, and ordinary nights all offer another chance to share great food and enjoy life around the grill.

Serves 5

Grilled Pork Belly Skewers Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork belly, skin removed, cut into 3/4 inch cubes
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, for garnish

For the Marinade

  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, finely grated
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup green onions, sliced

Grilled Pork Belly Skewers Directions

  1. Measure all of the marinade ingredients into a bowl or measuring cup. Whisk to combine, then set aside.
  2. Next, transfer the prepared pork to a bowl with a tight-fitting lid. Pour the marinade over the pork and toss to coat.
  3. Cover and refrigerate for at least two hours, but no more than 24 hours.
  4. Once the pork has marinated, assemble the kebabs. Skewer one piece at a time, making sure that each piece just touches the next. Do not push the pork pieces together, because this will prevent the pork from caramelizing properly.
  5. Preheat grill to 400°F
  6. Place skewers onto hot grill and cook for 3 minutes per side. Do not leave grill unattended. Pork belly has a lot of fat, which can cause flare-ups if too much drips and reaches the flame.
  7. Once done, remove from the grill, plate, and garnish with sesame seeds and more green onions.
