Grilled Green Beans with Butter and Garlic brings a fresh spark to the holiday table, especially when you want a quick, flavorful side that doesn’t crowd your oven. Thanksgiving cooks often hunt for something simple yet satisfying to balance the heavier dishes. These charred, tender green beans meet that need with ease. The heat of the grill deepens their natural sweetness, while melted butter and garlic add a warm, savory edge that fits perfectly beside turkey, stuffing, and all the classics.

Holiday rhythm tends to get frantic, so keeping one dish outdoors helps the whole meal feel smoother. This recipe delivers that relief without sacrificing flavor. The grill’s steady heat gives the green beans a crisp bite and a smoky note that’s hard to match indoors. Even a last-minute addition can feel thoughtful when every element hits the grate at the right moment.

American Made Grills takes this simple side and gives it room to shine. Our Hybrid and gas grill lines are crafted in the USA with a commitment to strength, precision, and long-term reliability—qualities that matter when every plate counts. Thoughtful airflow, powerful burners, and stainless construction help you cook with confidence, whether heating solid fuels or working over a gas burner. That level of control makes quick recipes like this feel even more rewarding. Our grills are built for cooks who want dependable performance in any season and prefer gathering outside whenever the chance appears.

As you prep for Thanksgiving, let the grill handle this bright, buttery side dish so your kitchen stays calmer and your meal tastes richer. Grilled Green Beans with Butter and Garlic show how a small dish can still make a big impression—especially when cooked on an American Made Grill.

Serves 4

Grilled Green Beans with Butter and Garlic Ingredients

  • 1 lb green beans
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 large garlic cloves
  • 1/2 lemon - juice only
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt
  • black pepper

Grilled Green Beans with Butter and Garlic Directions

  1. Snap off any stems that may still be attached to the individual bean pods and rinse the green beans in cold water. Pat them dry.
  2. Prepare all other ingredients before starting to cook.
  3. Prepare the grill to a two-temperature zone and make sure the hot zone is set to a hot temperature, about 425°-450°. You will be cooking over the cooler side, or you'll burn butter and garlic.
  4. Set a cast-iron skillet or griddle plate over indirect heat once the grill is preheated, and let the skillet preheat for a few minutes.
  5. Add butter to the skillet and once it starts to melt, add minced garlic and squeezed lemon juice.
  6. When butter is melted, toss in green beans and season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Use long metal tongs to toss the green beans with butter and seasoning. (It’s best to use long tongs to keep your hands away from the heat and preferably ones coated in silicone so you don’t scratch the skillet.)
  7. Cook the grilled beans, stirring them often, until they reach the desired tenderness. This will take somewhere between 10 and 15 minutes.
